During the meeting, President Thein Sein welcomed and thanked theVietnamese delegation’s attendance and contributions to the success ofthe 2013 World Economic Forum on East Asia .
Forhis part, PM Dung congratulated Myanmar on the successfulorganisation of the forum as well as its great achievements in politicaland social stabilisation, national development and internationalrelationship expansion.
The leaders expressed theirpleasure at the fine development of the two countries’ traditionalfriendship and multifaceted cooperation while agreeing to enhancedelegation and people-to-people exchanges.
They alsoaffirmed to continue promoting current cooperation mechanisms such asthe Vietnam–Myanmar Joint Committee, and annual political consultationbetween the two Foreign Ministries. They agreed to soon establish asecurity dialogue mechanism at deputy ministerial level between Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and Myanmar ’s Ministry of HomeAffairs.
Besides, they pledged to boost the two countries’ economic, trade and investment cooperation.
PM Dung and President Thein Sein also reached an agreement onexpanding cooperation in other potential fields like mineralexploitation, aviation and construction.
Vietnamwill assist Myanmar in developing agriculture, aquatic farming andprocessing while Myanmar will facilitate Vietnam’s licensedinvestment projects in the country, they said.
Atthe meeting, the two sides exchanged views on regional and internationalissues of mutual concern and agreed to work closely at both regionaland international forums.
During his stay in Myanmar, PM Dung received leaders of some large global corporations who were attending the forum.
The Vietnamese delegation left Nay Pyi Taw on the same day.-VNA
